Being a student of Toulouse Business School can be both exciting and unforgettable. A different culture, people and environment contribute to the new memories and moments one can carry on.
Like any other business school or university, TBS can be viewed from different ways. In this post I will discuss the most important factor for me, which is a human factor. Those were not the classes or system which were challenging, but multicultural environment. Therefore, if someone wants to experience it then Toulouse Business School is the place.
Having classes with more than forty and sometimes fifty students in class can be tricky for one’s adaptation. Especially important is to get used to a team work which is a major component of all classes. It will happen almost every week lasting from a few days to a few months. To adapt to the new multicultural environment, it is important to understand that what works for you may not work for someone else. Cultural difference is something to always keep in mind and to be aware of. Take time to learn, be patient.
Real life experience will present moments of struggle, laughter, competitiveness and exhaustion. No matter how you feel it is important to understand each other’s needs and most important respect your team members without being too judgmental during difficult moments.
One example of a good team work would be using one language during the times when you collaborate. English is not only welcomed, but required by the program. This is one of the ways to feel more united with team members of different cultural backgrounds.
The last thing to remember is to be yourself and go for what feels right for you. And of course, choose a wise way to present yourself because in the end It always ends with this quote:
“Busy hands achieve more than idle tongues.”
