By train

From the Matabiau station, the “skirail” takes you to 12 stations in the Pyrenees: Ascou-Pailhères, Ax-3-Domaines, Beille, Porté-Puymorens, Grandvalira, Guzet, Luchon-Superbagnères, Piau-Engaly, Saint-Lary, Cauterets, Grand Tourmalet and Le Lioran. Offered by SNCF, this package includes the round trip from Toulouse to the station of your choice and the ski pass for the day. Most of the time, the first half of the journey is by train and then a bus brings you to the station.

Regarding prices, it costs between 35 and 50 € for a day depending on where you want to go. Reduced prices are available for people under 26 years old, directly on the SNCF website. For instance, if you are under 26 and you want to go to Ax-3-domains on a Saturday, it will cost you 44 €.

By bus

Many companies offer round trips to the Pyrenees’ stations from Toulouse.

  • Haute-Garonne Tourisme offers round trips, with or without skipass, for 3 stations: Superbagnères, Le Mourtis and Peyragudes. The departure is from the aisles Jean Jaurès at 6:45 or from the metro station Ramonville at 7am. Prices without skipass are between 13 and 16 euros. Allow between 31 and 44 euros for the package including the skipass.
  • Other option: The N’Py community is launching an offer named Ski’zy, from Toulouse to Peyragudes. An ideal offer for students, since it includes the round trip, the day pass, and a hot drink on the slopes, all for 35 euros. 4 starting points: Colomiers train station (6:30), Compans Caffarelli metro station (6:45), Matabiau train station (6:55) and Paul Sabatier metro station (7:10).
  • Last option: The Overpass discount program also launches its transport and skipass deal for Saint-Lary. It includes the round-trip, the day pass, and discounts at equipment renters, all for 35 euros. To benefit from this offer, you must take advantage of the Overpass card, available for 1 € at the IzzGood store, in the Jean Jaurès metro station.
